About Jan Stirling

Although Janet is best known as a jazz, classical, and pop musician, performing as a soloist or in duos, trios or quartets, she is also a sound healer (Biofield Tuning practitioner), a composer, and the author of Ted Harrison's Rainbow Road.
Born in Brantford Ontario, she has made the West Coast her home for the better part of her life. She has entertained in Victoria, Vancouver, Thailand, Japan, Australia, Penang, and on cruise ships. She continues to perform in Victoria for events at the Empress Hotel, Riva in Sidney, Brentwood Bay Resort and at weddings and private parties where uplifting music is called for. Jan either plays solo piano, or in duos or trios with people like Joey Smith on bass, Al Vance on guitar, Edie Daponte on vocals or Dick Smith on saxophone. When working in Vancouver for five years, she had a regular gig at the Pan Pacific with Patty and Oliver Gannon, Ross Taggart, and Roy Reynolds. Jan is interested in reaching her highest potential and helping others do the same. One of her areas of studies is the Gene Keys. After practising tai chi and yoga for twenty years, Jan learned the importance of directing energy within the body to release blockages. With an interest in the Healing Arts, she studied Reiki and Quantum Touch. This led to the realization that the power of sound as a healing tool was beyond every other modality. |

She uses two special crystal bowls that relate to the sacral and heart chakras. Playing these, she chants or sings in Sanskrit, Hebrew, and other sacred languages, assisting healing and meditation groups.
Jan's studies have led her to Eileen McKusick's ground-breaking work in Biofield Tuning. She was able to study with Eileen directly in 2017 and was one of the first Biofield tuning practitioners in British Columbia.
